About the pack

RatSound builds every instrument from a model of the real thing, never a recording: bowed strings, lip-reed brass, reed and bore winds, hammered and plucked strings, struck bars and sung vowels. I played all 31 instruments inside their real ranges, multisampled every minor third, cut chord stabs and holds for the keys, guitars, harp, mallets, string ensemble and brass section, and recorded every instrument playing a riff and a progression or arp as seamless loops. 695 files, in key and on tempo.

Want to play these sounds yourself, on any note? They come from RatSound.

Licence

  • Pure physical-modelling synthesis: every sound was generated by RatSound's models, no recordings.
