Every paid plugin ships for macOS as AU and VST3, and for Windows as VST3. Most instruments also include a Standalone app on macOS. AAX / Pro Tools is not supported right now. Vocalizer is macOS Apple Silicon only.

Right away. After checkout, the download links show up on the confirmation page and get emailed to you. There is no license key, no account setup, and nothing to activate.

No. Use the link in your purchase email if you need to download again later. If you lose it, enter your purchase email on the Downloads page and I'll send you fresh links to everything you own.

macOS 11+ (most plugins run on both Apple Silicon and Intel; BrassKnuckles, EightOhEight, RatDrum, RatSound, Subverter and The Choppa are Apple Silicon only for now), or Windows 10/11 64-bit. You will also need a DAW that loads AU or VST3 plugins. I build and test everything in Ableton Live; other DAWs should work but I haven't tested them.

No. Updates are free for plugins you own. New versions are announced on the Downloads & Updates page — enter your purchase email there and the latest installers land in your inbox. Installing over your old version updates it in place.

I build and test every plugin in Ableton Live. They are standard AU and VST3 plugins and pass the usual plugin validation tools, so they should load in Logic Pro, FL Studio, Reaper, Cubase, Bitwig and the rest, but I haven't tested those. The MIDI-heavy ones (RatMIDI, DrumDNA, The Choppa, and the MIDI modes in The Featherer, RatMotion and RatVision) are where DAWs differ most, so each of those pages says what to expect. If something misbehaves in your DAW, email me and I'll fix it or refund you.

Right-click any knob in the plugin and pick 'Create automation clip' — same as FL's native plugins (added in the July 2026 updates; grab the latest installers if you don't see it). This works in any VST3 host that offers per-parameter menus. You can also use FL's wrapper menu → Browse parameters, tweak the knob, then right-click it in the Browser.

Yes. Buying the bundle gets you every paid RatHound plugin that exists today AND every one I release in the future, at no extra cost. New releases are added to your bundle downloads automatically — check the Downloads & Updates page whenever something new ships.

Yes, they're royalty-free: use the sounds in anything you release, commercial or not, with no credit needed. You just can't resell or share the samples themselves. The packs are sold separately and aren't part of the RatKing bundle, and the download links in your receipt keep working.

Since these are digital downloads, refunds are handled case-by-case. If something is not working, check the Refunds page or email me with your order details. Antivirus or SmartScreen warnings about the Windows installers aren't grounds for a refund (see the next question).

Yes. The Windows installers aren't code-signed yet, and Windows SmartScreen and some antivirus programs (Microsoft Defender included, and some VirusTotal scanners) flag unsigned installers from small developers as a matter of course. It's a false positive: the installer contains only the plugin. Please be OK with this before you buy, because I can't refund purchases over antivirus warnings. The macOS installers are signed and notarized by Apple and don't have this problem.
